Game thread: Florida 34, Florida State 7 (Final)

What's really bad is the way the game is getting away from the officials now. Poor discipline on both sides of the ball 91 Florida and 66 FSU EJECTED.
Then a face mask for 5yds against the Gators that could easily have been for 15.

==

And a strip of the ball by Florida just makes things worse.

==

The only consolation FSU can take from this abysmal showing is that they did not get skunked.

Weatherford got drilled virtually every pass play they ran. It seemed like he got sacked about a dozen times, but usually he was just running for his life and throwing it away. Tough kid, for sure, but their O is terrible - at least the passing game.
Is it just me, or is Leak very inconsistent?
I see him throw 3 ro 4 straight terrible balls, then 3 or 4 straight good balls. He also seems to throw better on the run than in the pocket.
Overall, FL's O is looking much better now than in the middle of the season - they should have a nice season next year.

From today's Tallahassee Democrat:

I found this passage absolutely amazing...

Reporter:
Are you more frustrated over losing to Florida or the fact that people don't recognize the execution problems that led to a loss like that?
Bowden:
It irritates me that as soon as we lose a ballgame, 'Let's fire Jeff Bowden' That is really cowardly to me. We didn't play good in any area. We played better in some than others. But that has happened two dadgum times. I go back and look at the film to see where this bad play-calling is coming from. I see that as long as we block our man, our plays are really going good. When we don't, then you've got a bad play, but that has nothing to do with the way the play was called. Yeah, I'm irritated over that. I think people are getting personal. They better be glad that I'd like to keep this job.
...emphasis mine.

Is he serious? Is he suggesting that what he has built at FSU can't possibly survive him?

This level of arrogance has to be tough to swallow, even for Seminole fans who have already located his statue in a place of honor and renamed the field for him (note: I said the field, not the stadium).

EDIT: For those of you who don't know; Jeff Bowden, Bobby's son, is FSU's OC.

Since the departure of Mark Richt, FSU's offense has been on a steady decline. It keeps sinking further and further away and there seems to be no bottom to the pit. I knew BB would live and die this year with Weathrford once "god" was out of the picture. It probably has cost him the best qb on his team as Xavier Lee is looking to transfer.

It's natural for Bobby to defend his son, but you'd think that he would realize that the OC is not only responsible for calling the plays, but for coaching the athletes to learn the schemes and techniques so they can execute those plays.
