OK, I am determined to get up for every game this season, and that means I have to convince myself that BG has a chance - but I may need help. I can take it this far:
1. Nick Mangold was rated 1 star by Scout, but ended up in the NFL. Almost every player on BGs roster was rated either 1 or 2 stars. That means we could be facing an entire lineup of future NFLers.
2. OSU has now faced both experienced and inexperienced quarterbacks. But we have not faced a quarterback named Freddie Barnes. We will see if the D can handle it.
3. BG has FIVE quarterbacks on their roster. FIVE! We wont be able to wear them down no matter how deep we can go.
4. BG is 2-0 on the road. That means they play much better if they aren't thinking about what they are getting for a half time snack and Dad isn't yelling "Hey, move closer to the line! You're too far from the line!!"
5. If you look at their alphabetic roster starting with Derek Brighton and running through Michael Culberson-Fehling they have seven players who are all either true or RS Frosh. Coincidence? I don't think so.
6. And of course, the old "seven degrees of separation" trick:
BG beat Buffallo
Buffallo beat Temple
Temple, well, Temple hasn't beaten anyone. Let me try again...
BG beat Florida Intl.
Florida Intl, well, crap. One more time.
BG lost to Wisconsin.
Wisconsin lost to Michigan
Michigan beat Notre Dame
Notre Dame would beat OSU if they had enough time to prepare, so...
I wouldn't count your chickens til they cross the road on this one.
