21 pts, 13 assists and officially knocked his former team out of the playoffs. Nets are also currently the 7th seed. I haven't paid any attention to the NBA this season, is there anyone else that deserves most improved player more?
He's going to the playoffs while the Laker's aren't but no leadership or something.

Not really. He's teammates loved him the old lakers greats didn't.I think we are all happy for D’Angelo for his career. But in fairness to the Lakers, he wasn’t going to last there after the video incident. It was a mistake of youth, but a huge locker room transgression.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.in...dangelo-russell-to-brooklyn-nets-in-2017/amp/This incident is overstated. The Lakers changed head coach, GM, and most of the roster within a few months. The only players left from DLo's locker room at the start of the 17/18 season were Clarkson, Nance, and Randle, and obviously they all got dealt too.
The simplest explanation is usually the correct one: The Lakers have been a poorly run franchise for the last six seasons and they frequently make stupid personnel decisions. DLo didn't need to escape the Lakers to blossom, but he definitely needed to escape Byron Scott -- and the fucked up part is EVERYBODY knew it in 2015/16 and the Lakers tried to force it to happen anyway.
