And they then get us during our QB transition in 2021 in The Shoe.

Upcoming Ohio State-Texas Football Series Changes

There’s a change to the upcoming home-and-home series between Ohio State and Texas.

The teams will now play the first game of the series in Columbus on August 30, 2025, and then face off in Austin on September 12, 2026. The change was first pointed out by FBSchedules.com.

Originally, the first game was supposed to happen in Austin with the following year’s game in Columbus. That 2026 game was also pushed back a week from September 5 to September 12.

Ohio State Football Adds UConn, Ball State to Future Schedules

Ohio State announced on Monday that they have added Connecticut and Ball State to future football schedules.

Neither game will feature a return trip from Ohio State to either respective campus.

Connecticut will play at Ohio State on October 18, 2025 and will complete OSU’s 2025 non-conference schedule.


The Buckeyes open the 2025 season with a home game against Texas, then an open week, then a home game against Washington.

Ball State will be in Columbus Sept. 5, 2026. This will be the Buckeyes’ season opener before they head to Austin to face the University of Texas the following week.

Ohio State will pay Connecticut $1.95 million for the game, which will be sandwiched by trips to Wisconsin and to Rutgers.

The 2026 Big Ten conference schedule has not yet been released.

Tentatively scheduled to play Texas and Washington that season with roadies at Iowa and Wisconsin before UConn comes to town. A much needed break in the schedule, for sure.
