Fusion net energy gain expected to be announced 12/13

I'm guessing that a bunch of scientists are going to start committing suicide or getting killed in car wrecks.
which uses a process called inertial confinement fusion that involves bombarding a tiny pellet of hydrogen plasma with the world’s biggest laser...

Maybe they'll just harvest their energy.

Shit that means we're 3 years away from Thanos....dammit
Lol not yet. It's only net energy gain from the reaction. It still is only 1% of energy used by the whole system.

Cause 1980s lasers kinda sucked. If they replaced it with modern lasers they would be nearing 20%.

Hell they probably should just for the reduction in energy bill. 300 megajoules of energy for 2 megajoules of laser is terrible
