Troy Williamson found that missing a game to be with your family after a funeral was a very costly decision. The Vikings decided to fine Williamson a game check, roughly $25,000, after he stayed in South Carolina to be with his family after his grandmother's funeral instead of returning to play in the team's win over the Chargers last Sunday.

Pretty shitty if you ask me. Maybe i'm a little sensitive about funerals since i've had a pretty bad stretch of deaths of the past 2-3 years, but i feel the vikings were pretty harsh to fine him for this.

What would be a reasonable amount of time for a funeral stay?

Yeah, I don't know... Williamson in the article seems to be not that upset about it... he's back with the team... he did what he felt he needed to do, so did the Vikings...

And... his boy AP picked him up, so... no worries.

Can the Bungles fine the whole team a game check? There have been times that would have been appropriate this year. :wink2:

Just one game check? Chris Henry has shown up for almost as many games as the rest of the team.
