He's back and better than ever!
  • So my fiancee signed up for a bunch of different contests when she went to some of these bridal shows while we have been planning the wedding. We got a call from this group called consolidated properties saying we had won a trip to flordia, that was free 4 day 3 nights.

I looked into the groups and found out they are a time share company, and basicly to get the free hotel and tickets to universal studio you have to sit through a 2 hour presentation about thier time share. The only bad thing I have been able to find is that a few people said that the sales people were very pushy, and 1 person claimed that they have refused to give he back the deposit that they say they give back to you after you sit through the presentation. Other than that people have said positivethings about teh trips etc.

So the question to any of you is.....is it worth it to do it? Do you think it is a scam? Has anyone done anything like this before and have any advice to share?

Ive done this before knowing full well what it was about. It wasnt that bad. It is a high pressure sales presentation but the perfect out is.... Hey, I filed bankrupcy last week is that an issue? That usually stops the sales pitch. I went to Hilton Head and got two free rounds of golf. It was worth the uncompfortable situation that lasted around 2 hours. You must be strong though some people do walk out of those with a worthless time share.:(

Guy on our staff tells us to watch out for this stuff, but it is 100% free. His wife sells timeshares in Myrtle Beach...same thing, 2 hr presentation for free weekend hotel room, meal vouchers at nice restaurants, rounds of golf, etc.

Massive pressure tactics, contact after you leave, basically badger you until you get nasty.

However, its 100% free...know what's going to happen going in and you will be fine.

I have been on several time share tours. They are legit, but they do pressure you to the tenth degree. One place brought in three managers after I told the salesperson no, I kept saying no. They told me I was making a big mistake, but I did not budge. Just stay firm with your no and have fun.
