The 'Metrolex' isn't my idea of a quality theatrical experience, but whatever. The old Carmike was a passable cinema (the new one is pretty nice, with the stadium seating and whatnot), and there's been a 'cheap' $2 theater here for 7-8 years. Besides, we still have a drive-in. :p

Downtown FC is a truly vibrant cultural center, at least for a ~120,000 person city. The Lincoln Center and the Aggie Theater bring great music to the area, there are unique galleries, good restaurants and fun bars, not to mention great outdoor events throughout the summers.

If dinner at Chili's and a $10 movie at the Metrolux are your idea of a good time, then please, enjoy Loveland and Greeley.

Loveland and Greeley are holes too. Especially Greeley, gotta love that smell. Loveland is just an outlet town.
Just because FC is has a "vibrant cultural center" (I nearly choked on my water when I read that hyperbole description of Old Town) in comparison to other holes doesn't mean it isn't a hole. You'd have better luck with this argument if you went the route of HP, etc.

Uh, FCollins lives there. I think he would know what his own town was like. :roll1:

Glad I gave you a chuckle.

Perhaps 'vibrant' was a stretch, but I gotta defend my (chosen) turf. :p I've lived here for 10 years and I think it's a great town, though it's definitely lacking in the racial/cultural diversity that I experienced in Columbus. I love the relative 'small town feel' here, though it's easy for me to delude myself into thinking it truly is a small town, as I live downtown and rarely go to South FC.

Where do you live, 23?

Just because other people don't put the city they live in, in their name -- doesn't mean they don't live somewhere. :roll2:
Would've thought you could guess I know a little about FC considering the kind of things I've been able to referance offhand.

The Poudre can be a challenging river to fish. Picturesque, but challenging. My experience is that there are bigger fish in the Big Thompson, between Loveland and Estes Park.

I like the challenge. Thanks for the advice.

My pick goes to FC. Denver (I hear) is a cool city but the rest of the state (I hear) is tuned to sportsmen (and sportswomen).

Gotta go with Denver. I haven't spent much time in F. Collins, but it seems like a decent mid-sized university town . . . notwithstanding that I prefer CU to CSU.

However, from my downtown Denver loft I can WALK to games at Coors Field, the Pepsi Center, Invesco Field (at Mile high), the largest performing complex West of the Mississippi until you get to LA, parks, a huge independent book store, a wide variety of restaurants/bars, movie theaters (including the STARZ film center which has the foreign and art flicks, and (just for you Sushi) THIS: http://www.internationalwineguild.com/index.htm

If I get in the car, I've got easy access to the mountains, museums, lots of decent golf courses, and tons of ethnic Asian and Mexican food restaurants and markets.

Denver's pretty white (and Hispanic), but otherwise the dude comparing it to a giant suburb either hasn't been here for 15-20 years or is using mega-cities like Manhattan, LA, or Chicago for comparison.
