I think Coach Tressel looks for football players with character and that transcends how tight-knit a family they may have. Look at the Troy Smiths and the other players on the team that came from broken families, but have overcame so much to succeed. I think a Tressel recruit is a fantastic athlete that also has the potential to be a fantastic man, notwithstanding the situation they were born into.
So what exactly is a "Tressel recruit"?
If the next football player to make a verbal commitment to play at Ohio State were Muslin and from a broken home would everyone sputter "That's DOESN'T sound like a Tressel recruit!!" if he were a devout Christian from a good home and close family, but had several arrests as a juvenile would he then become a Tressel Recruit?
