You put them next to each other and slice through a third of each. Two people get the two thirds portion and the third gets the 2 one third portions.

You put them next to each other and slice through a third of each. Two people get the two thirds portion and the third gets the 2 one third portions.
Under your scenario, the third who gets the 2 one third portions really gets more, because ain't nobody* be eating the core and the seeds of an apple.
*not including persons under duress or starvation, for whom circumstances may, in fact, cause them to eat the core and the seeds
