For those who missed the second half yesterday....

BuckPshrink

All-American
Was pretty upset when ABC/ESPN switched to the Mizzu loss . Gameplan blockout did not lift in all regions.
Today at noon (eastern) the game will be re-broadcast on ESPNU. Although I hate it, I need to watch the second half. Just a heads up that I have not seen elsewhere.
I'll post my e-mails this week that I intend to send: polite to the local affiliate;scathing to the Devil Worms of Bristol..... Just a warning as if the re-broadcast is interrupted even by weather, blood will spill in N. Ga. Here's hoping to a lack of thunderstorms..............

Living here in Jacksonville, I was caught by surprise when I noticed that the ABC affiliate was airing the Buckeyes and Spartys game and so I naturally settled in for a great day of OSU football but when it reached 38 - 0, i had a gut feeling they would break-away to another game. Here in the south they don't give a rats ass about BIG10 football unless they have a feeling that an upset in the making could be in favor Michigan State. When it was evident that this was not going to take place they pulled the plug on this game and switched it to another game. But all in all, I was fortunate to see a good ass whooping by the Buckeyes on the Spartans. It was a damn good feeling to see this one. Go Bucks.

I nearly missed the second half of the Michigan State Stomping myself...as soon as our sorry local station bailed, I dashed upstairs, got dressed (no, I wasn't completely naked), and sped 10 miles to Manny's, a local sports bar...for the finish.

And yes...I sent a scathing comment to our local station about pulling the plug with no indication beforehand of the possibility of doing so. You'd think they would have a little more respect for fans in underwear.

I agree with everyone being pi$$ed about missing part of the game, but trust me, you did not miss a lot. I was there, and after awhile we even started applauding the Sparties -- like when they would actually catch a pass. Of course we thought it was chicken szit when John L called time outs and scored against our 2nd and 3d string.

Tressel showed his class, though, on the ensuing kick off - it was a squibber and we fielded it and TOOK A KNEE in the middle of the field. He probably figured it would be uncomfortable if we ran the kick back for a TD.

And yes, even I found myself watching the Tigers on the big screen.

If there was any doubt that John L Smith was out, or that he had lost his players, the second half will convince you that that program is dead in the water. I think they'll be lucky to win one game the rest of the year.

Go Bucks!

by all means you can complain to your local affiliates but you should know that it was ABC Network in New York that made the call to bail on the game... you can complain to your local affiliate but they did not control the switch.

Just wanted to give everybody a second chance to read this.

The network controls what they feed the local station. If you see John Saunders coming on explaining that they're changing the coverage because Ohio State has officially beaten the stupid out of their opponent, then it is the NETWORK that has changed the feed, not the affiliate who dumped it.

I was at the buckeye bar in new york and everyone there got pretty upset. It was pretty funny though, because when I went outside about five people were trying to call ABC cutomer service to get it turned back on. Thankfully though, they got the game back on somewehre around the beginning of the fourth quarter.
