Just sayin': There's always room at the Woody hayes Athletic Center for one more. Bring it home boys.

Why does that say January 6th?

The only way that I see OSU losing this game is if Chip and Day play conservatively and turn this into a grudge time eating grudge match.
Basically it really on offense… are we going to force them to keep up or are we going to play conservative and “hope to win in the 4th”.

I know we just won in the 4th vs Texas but dammit it didn’t have to be that way in that game either. A game close in the 4th favors ND without a doubt.

Basically ever scenario except like 5 turnovers the Buckeyes are looking good. They would have to have literally everything go wrong to lose this game.

I know we act that we were clearly the better team against Cryami when we won the NC, but they had 5 turnovers (including Taylor's INT which went back to tOSU) and we had 2. If you cancel out the Sean Taylor / Clarett thing, it's 4 to 1.

People have compared ND to tOSU in 2002. One way to stop that is to protect the ball

Which we’ve done before. We can absolutely lose this game although it’s not likely.

They will not be able to throw the ball vs this secondary that I do know. However I worry about the running of Leonard. For some reason teams know it’s coming and have troubles stopping him.

We said the same thing about TCUN though and we still had a trash game plan and didn’t excute.

I still think the best bet is to be incredibly aggressive down the field early. Score 2-3 times before the half and force them into a game they don’t want to play. That’s why I think if the OL gives Howard time we’ll win provided we don’t have bad turnovers etc.

This was the team from the other bracket I preferred not to play as I said early in the playoffs. I’m glad it’s not UGA since it’s in Atlanta but NDs mobile QB and good secondary can give us trouble.
Put Simon on Leonard, like they did against Gabriel and I think that will help with the QB run.

Moving the pocket more than they did with Tex and create confusion. Take what the D gives you.

Hopefully, the Oline gives Howard enough time to go through the progressions.

Get back to better perimeter blocking.

I just realized it should have been 6 turnovers. I can't believe Donnie Nickey dropped the INT on the final play. :slappy:

I think they can, but it’ll have to be dinking and dunking trying to bait Knowles into blitzing. Their passing game reminds me of annoying NW teams that look bad and then find a way to complete 20 underneath throws and 3 arm punts. They know they need some big plays and will take shots hoping to hit a few and draw penalties on others.

Most important thing is to stay patient, because I’d rather them rush with 4 and squeeze the pocket with Simon spying than blitzing and leaving wide open lanes for Leonard or a dump off to the RB/TE.

I agree and I’ll go a step further and say we shouldn’t blitz unless we really have to. Also we should play majority zone I think.

This way everyone’s eyes are on the QB. Can’t afford like you mention to have wide open running lanes.

This isn't a big deal, it's just a personal pet peeve, but it annoys me when people say things like Ohio St wouldn't have made the playoffs in the old system. This goes for any team, not just OSU. Games are different when factors are different. If the tun game is do or die, that is a different game. They play different and probably win in a do or die setting. It's the same thing when NFL teams miss the playoffs by 1 game and say man if only we had beaten the Bears in week 6 we would have made the playoffs. Well, if you didn't lose week 6, maybe you don't lock in and win week 7. etc

This is just something Michigan fans say to cope. Not even worth addressing imo.
