Incriminating Videotape Leads Deputies to Burglary Suspect

Orange County, Fla. -- An incriminating videotape led deputies to a burglary suspect and some unique stolen items. Orange County deputies found the videotape inside a stolen car.

Deputies said the video shows a group of thieves who burglarized several homes in the Lemon Tree Condominiums off Rio Grande Avenue. Detectives were able to use the video to link 18-year-old Thomas Colson to a series of burglaries. Deputies said Colson and another unnamed suspect videotaped themselves in Colson's bedroom with stolen items.

A friend of mine had a stolen car recovered. She noticed a piece of paper sticking out of the poetry book she had left in the front seat. It was a job application, complete with name, address, phone, and SSN of the thief. Convenient.
