BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Ohio State baseball team dropped a 2-1 contest in the series finale at FAU Sunday afternoon at FAU Baseball Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla. With the loss, the Buckeyes fall to 4-2, while the Owls claim the series victory and improve to 6-1 in 2015.
Down 2-0, the Buckeyes rallied to put the tying run 90 feet away after
Craig Nennig sent a two-out RBI single to left center to make it 2-1. However, relief pitcher Bo Logan claimed a strikeout to pick up the save and end the rally for the Scarlet and Gray. Ohio State fought hard in the late innings of contest, collecting all seven hits from the fifth inning and beyond but fell short vs. the Owls.
Both starting pitchers were efficient on the hill to begin game three on a warm and sunny afternoon in South Florida. Ohio State senior left-hander
Ryan Riga sent down the first seven FAU batters he faced before CJ Chatham slapped a single up the middle with one out in the bottom of the third. On the home side, FAU starter senior right-hander Robbie Coursel kept the Buckeyes hitless through the first four innings.
