If the rule is there, they have to enforce it. I have no problem with the official making the call, I just hate the rule.

The NCAA's Playing Rules Oversight Panel has approved three changes for college football,
and the one that's sure to garner the most debate is the taunting rule.

Beginning in 2011, if a player is penalized for taunting an opponent on his way to a touchdown
that play will be nullified. Currently, that would be a deal-ball foul and assessed on the ensuing kickoff.

Well, the coaches have nobody to blame....but themselves. They wanted the harsher rules.

Bellotti said the change was not likely to take affect for at least two years, and even if approved would likely apply only to players who begin taunting opponents before crossing the goal line. The penalty would be assessed from the spot of the foul, like offensive holding calls in college football.
