If Ohio State and Florida played it would come down to who would be able to get a safety. If it were 2-2 at the end of regulation the first team to miss a FG loses.

Serious question

I only caugt a few mins of this game, but I was perplexed at what I saw. Florida seemed to have the ball in FG range, with about 8+ mins to go, and went for it on 4th and 4, with the score 14-6. They failed. Is Florida's kicker that bad? I would have thought they would have taken the points with that much time left, and seemingly a solid defensive performance. Or was this the genius of Jabba the Weis?

He is quite good normally. He was injured, that day thing it seems (he has been struggling with back injuries), and the only other choice was the punter making a go of it. Boom thought that the chance was not good, the special teams were sucking, so to avoid a block, he'd just go for it. We had to get a TD eventually, and we had about three more possessions, tops.

Thanks for clearing that up. like I said, I just tuned in for a couple of minutes, so I was confused as to why they would go for it there.
