From Marc Givler
“Vernell Brown is dynamic. Surprise, he isnt ranked higher. Nobody here can stay with him in one on one's just create so much separation with his speed and quickness”

ALPHA DOG: VERNELL BROWN III, ATH

Few defensive backs could hang with Brown on Sunday as he won rep after rep during 1-on-1s. A three-phase playmaker under the lights, some schools are recruiting Brown to play offense at the next level. Others like him on defense. We like the idea of letting him roam free as a play-making safety or deploying him as a sticky inside corner, but after watching him dominate yet another off-season event at wide receiver, we’re ready to project him as a dynamic slot that can create chunk-plays. Brown accelerates with ease and is able to break off defenders with impressive agility. He’s coming off an 11th-grade campaign at Orlando Jones in which he caught 70 passes for 1,363 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also scored four times via the return game, oftentimes making people miss in space much like his father, Vernell Brown, did during his playing days at Florida. The younger Brown is planning to check out the Gators in the coming months and also tour Miami, FSU and Ohio State.

Everyone of those teams listed have been known to fling the ball around the lot. Hartline has had the proclivity to land some of the most highly contested WRs in the nation. Some have eschewed the opportunity to don scarlet & gray, but the headliners have been interested in WRU if Hartline annoints them. Of course, some have looked at the depth chart and said "naw", or been offered a ton of gold somewhere else, but truthfully cannot see that a recruit, annointed as Hartline as 'the one', especially with tOSU QB room, and now Chip Kelley at the controls (wouldn't want to live on the difference between Chip and Ryan), have to pay attention. Heck, everyone should take a visit to tOSU, just to see a practice, or game, and mingle with that room. Go Bucks!

WR Vernell Brown III: His Saturday night performance was one of the best I’ve seen on the 7-on-7 circuit in a long time. I told Brown that night that he looked like an Amon-Ra St. Brown clone. They are so similar in their abilities to get open, create separation, attack the ball in the air, play physical, and rack up touchdowns with ease. It was more of the same on Sunday. He’s a playmaker in every sense of the word. The class of 2025 talent also contributed on defense and made multiple plays as well.

Ohio State, Florida and Florida State have been mentioned a lot with the four-star athlete from Orlando (Fla.) Jones but Georgia made a major impression when he visited this past week.
Seeing the high standards, the competition and how he would be tested every day in practice all stood out to Brown and while the family hasn’t re-evaluated his top list yet, the word is that some big changes could be coming soon.

Certainly Free Shoes U is going to take a swing here. Easy recruiting lingo - sure, you can go to tOSU. You'd be middle of the pack of their room of 4-5*s, and probably won't see the field in anything other than mop-up for two years. Or you can come here and start day one. That we can promise you (fingers crossed behind their backs).
