Too soon old, too late smart
Could just be me, but in the age of NIL, where every recruit gets a grab bag of football stuff, seeing them decked out in tOSU gear isn't as significant as it once was. Now, 'in the old days', if a recruit had said stuff, they went into their own pocket to purchase. Now, it's a matter of course that they get it, so to me, at least, they're just 'using it up' instead of 'showing it off'.

I disagree with that. If what you're saying is so true, then we'd see different clothing from every offered school on a recruit at every camp. When a recruit is wearing a school's clothing, I think he's openly showing who one of his favorites are. Not saying that OSU is clearly in the lead, but we're not seeing Ffrench post with Auburn or Clemson gear.

See what you're saying pnut. First of all Tom Loy - noted Notre Dame 'homer' indicating Ff to tOSU is huge. Simply because he doesn't throw a vote the Domers way. And I often wonder if the recruit doesn't don the appropriate gear when a photographer is going to be present, and dresses appropriately. ....

Loy is now the National analyst for 247sports, so his views are no longer of a biased homer like a sCam Webb. He's had much more CBs to other programs as of recent.
And as far as the pictures go, that could be the case. But I think that would depend on the recruit, and how much drama he wants to entice amongst fan bases. Some players like it, and some don't. I haven't seen Ffrench do that(as of yet), other than FSU and OSU, and possibly some Miami gear. And those are the schools that he's considering the most. But I haven't seen him in Ole Miss or South Carolina gear for example
