Ohio State has made a college football scholarship offer to Orlando First Academy sophomore defensive end/tight end Garrett Williams. (May 13, 2013)

Ohio State has made a college football scholarship offer to Orlando First Academy sophomore defensive end/tight end Garrett Williams.

Williams now has nine offers, with the others coming from FSU, Michigan State, Virginia, Clemson,Tennessee, Kentucky, Akron and Duke.

He talked last week about how he had already visited Ohio State but had no offer, yet.

Now he does.

"I?m just blessed ... God has really blessed me with all of this," Williams said. "Going into last summer, I was telling my mom that I'd be so happy if I could just get one offer and now I have nine. It's truly amazing and God had blessed me a lot with these offers."

He said earlier this year that had he been asked last summer what position he liked most, he would have picked defense. Now he loves both sides of the ball.

"Honestly both ... schools have been saying they like me at either right now," Williams said. "They don?t know what they want me at yet. That's what most people are saying."

Williams has already made several college visits, including attending the FSU spring game last month, as well as a visit to Ohio State recently.

"I really enjoyed my visit there," he said. "It's such a great school and that's even past football. They have great academics ... I'm really pumped for this offer."

This past season as a sophomore, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound Williams was third on the team in tackles with 76, while he leading the Class 3A state Final Four Royals in sacks with 10.
