I am of the opinion that if OSU really acted like they were interested in this kid as QB 1, then he would probably not be favored to Scum, and still be in play as a possibility.Favored to scUM, though he had a solid camp at OSU yesterday.

The kid probably also wants to get playing early, and 2026 would fit well with Scum. He may not want to compete.
What is unfortunate is Dia Bell now being off the table, and the talent thinning out.
Announces his tOSU offer with a picture of McCord losing to Michigan and commits to Michigan the next day. This kid is off the table.I don't think anyone is really "off the table" at this point. A long way until the 2026 class actually signs.

That screamed to me as well. Kid may regret his take later.Announces his tOSU offer with a picture of McCord losing to Michigan and commits to Michigan the next day. This kid is off the table.
Apparently they just offered him yesterday. Just committed to Scum, who apparently offered him a while ago. Solid camp or not, OSU must feel like another option of that caliber is readily available out there, and there is always the transfer portal.Favored to scUM, though he had a solid camp at OSU yesterday.
Yeah I got that, I just thought that line tied in with what I came to say.Was speaking more about Dia Bell.
OSU didn't even offer the kid until he got to camp, which is pretty much all there needs to be known.'26 is a long ways off and I am not worried about the QB recruiting for this class whatsoever. Day and Kelly will get their guy, whether in this class or through the portal. Plus we just went on a run of Brown, Kienholz, Air, Sayin and now the #2 overall player in the nation with TSC for '25. At some point kids do the math and many choose the safer bet, to which I cannot blame them.
All that said, the picture of McCord losing is classless and makes it much easier to despise the kid in future rivalry games if he actually lands in AA. I hope our defensive recruiting keeps at its current clip and makes Mr. Hart (Brady and Hart, what are the odds right?) fear the end of November.
Agreed on all of the above. I don't want a statue of a QB that can't move and be creative, nor does the staff imo. Kid is a talent, I just don't think it would have worked in the system we perceive that Kelly/Day are looking at.OSU didn't even offer the kid until he got to camp, which is pretty much all there needs to be known.
He is also #9 rated pure pocket passer in the country, and I have a feeling Day and Kelly are kind of inching away from. I think the immobile McCord really motivated Day away from that type of QB.
The offer may have been made just to say they offered him. The pic may have been made out of being butt hurt by OSU, and knowing it was not a sincere offer.
I also agree with you, that OSU will find somebody by then.
