Just out of curiosity, how many points should we expect Texas to win by? I need some vCash.

At least 20, If SC can put 30 on you why cant a better offense do it?

cant wait to talk crap to my entire family in the Parma area once we win. series at 1-1 (last few years) lets see how they play on a neutral field

You can talk crap to your family. Just try to be respectful on these boards.

First USC's offense didn't put 30 on us...they put up 28 (one of their five TDs was an INT return).

Second, that was at USC where the crowd was about 95% USC (I know...I was there), and not at a neutral venue where 60% or more will be Buckeye fans.

Third, our offense was in disarray at the time (splitting QB time between Boeckman and Pryor, Beanie Wells out hurt, at least one key OL was out IIRC). This put an additional burden on our defense as they were on the field more than usual.

Fourth, our DL was vulnerable to the run. Since then, our DL has made significant improvement in run defense and in generating a pass rush. It is a markedly better DL than it was three months ago.

For Texas to beat us by 20+, they'd better score 45+ because we're going to score as a minumum of 24 points...and there's no way in hell Texas is going to score 45+ points.

Well...I actually don't doubt that Texas can throw up 20 or 30 points on us. Maybe more than 30. But...also don't doubt that we can throw up just as many. I think this one may be more of a shoot out. I do think a lower scoring game would favor the Buckeyes, as in a shootout, usually I give the advantage to the more experience quarterback. I'm just thinking that our defense will force a big play late, that ends up being the game changer. Our defense has a lot of very experienced players, who are going to make some very big plays.

Any chances we could see Beockman in to test the young Texas secondary?

A few deep balls would be nice too see.

I've been thinking the same thing, especially after how good his throws looked against Michigan (key words: against Michigan). I doubt if there will be a plan to get him in at any cost, but if the O-line is holding, and TP isn't setting the world on fire, why not?

I'd say because of the extremely effective pass rush of Texas, and their ability to mostly discount the scrambling threat and mix in more man coverage if the QB is changed.
