Is this the first time that Boise hasnt played in their own bowl?

Nope - they played in the Humanitarian Bowl (blue turf) in '99, '00, and '02.

The last 3 years:

'03 - Fort Worth Bowl (beat TCU)
'04 - Liberty Bowl (lost to Louisville)
'05 - MPC Computers Bowl (lost to BC)

MPC Computers Bowl is on their "smurf" turf also...it changed names....

I would love to see BSU upset OU...to see a mid-major come in and do that would be really awesome to see....like seeing UCLA whoop up on USC :)

I said this on another blog...but if Peterson is smart he will never play college football again...he is guaranteed a top 5 pick in the draft and a shitload of $$$$$.....the only thing he needs to worry about is the combine.....IMO....

No way a kid that is a competitor will not play if he is healthy. I am guessing he will be healthy by then as he was almost cleared to play in the Big XII title game, and the Fiesta bowl isnt for another month. Collerbones usually don't reaggrivate unless you do something b4 it is rehealed, but as long as it is healed he should be fine.

I am also sure that he will take out one of them fat insurance policies b4 the game too.

You are right....he will play...maybe I should have stated that a little different....I meant that if it were ME I wouldn't play...but u have a good point on the insurance policy issue...:)

Another way Peterson can approach this game (if he is cleared) is that playing will show the NFL scouts that his rehab progressed nicely... playing one final healthy game would stick in the minds of the NFL types and would be a nice springboard for him into the combines.

Well at least Miami is more than willing to take Boise's spot in the computers bowl or w/e it is called now adays.

I wonder how many yards Peterson will go for in this game as his farewell to college onto the NFL...

I'll say 151. That's how many he needs to break the record of Oklahoma's all-time rushing leader, Billy Sims.
