Fiesta Bowl - Oklahoma 42, Boise St. 43 (OT-Final, Jan. 1, 2007)

The OSU-Miami Fiesta Bowl had more at stake and was more taut from start to finish.

For pure entertainment though, nothing I've seen beats the last few minutes of regulation and overtime of this game.

This was like watching the final fight in a Rocky movie - each side trading haymakers and coming back from improbably knockout blows.

Owen Field is loading really slowly - but this thread title may end up as a classic

Well @#%$ me! Big Game Bob gets bent over again!!

But this one is by far the most honest response

Re: COACHING MISMATCH few are recognizing that Boise embrassed us with players who might average 1.5 stars compared to our approx. average of 3.85 stars.

Woe be unto us if this was reversed.

We used to say how Bob's 3-star kids beat the hell out of Mack's 5-star kids because of Stoop's superior coaching abilities.

So just how do we explain this fiasco???????????

Fiutak's stream of consciousness. He somehow missed Johnson's knee being down, and posted the wrong final score of 49-48 (they'll probably fix that soon), but he had a long day.

cfn

Boise State and Jared Zabransky appeared to choke away the Fiesta Bowl, and then they went on a touchdwn drive in the final minute to beat Oklahoma in double-overtime. Check out Pete Fiutak's Stream of Consciousness Notes in one of the most exciting games of all-time.

His final thought:

It didn't have the implications of the 2006 Rose Bowl, it wasn't as meaningful as the 2003 Fiesta Bowl, but that was the greatest final five minutes and overtime, and the greatest pressure play calling, I've ever seen.
