Fiery Market Crash Thread

The Pro's are going to fuck the Joe's so bad it's not even going to be funny.

It will be a bloodbath. The artificially inflated price doesn't change the fact that the underlying company is in the shitter. At some point, folks are going to start off-loading these stupid over-priced shares they bought and the price is going to take a nosedive. There will be a whole bunch of people losing a ton of money.

I also don’t know if there’s enough credit or thought being given to the creators behind this. Something tells me it may not be the underdog narrative we’re hearing. There had to be some established/wealthy people to truly make this pop off.

Plus, we’re going to find out other large institutions (Blackrock, Schwab etc) already had positions too and are going to cash on this. Big guys always win but I’m happy to root for chaos and happy for any retail Joe that is able to flip a quick buck. Sorry for anyone that will be left behind.

It’s all pretty fascinating no matter what. Hell of a start to 2021.

My guess is the $2.8 billion outside investment for Melvin Capital will be used to short this all the way down to nothing. It’s all over when a group of the pumpers start selling. If I was an officer at GameStop, I would exercise all of my options, dump everything, shutter the corporate offices, and buy an island somewhere. It’s your one shot.

Looks like a small group is trying to start the same thing with AMC. Their shares are up $11 today so far, almost thought about jumping on it with a small amount this morning at about $5 and getting out at the end of the day just for kicks, but I'll just keep watching this wild ride from the sidelines.

Watching the big dogs piss and moan over this is entertaining, along with the GameStop jokes.

I remember some kid used "the internet" to manipulate stock price back in 2001 or so and they came down on him like a ton of bricks.

How is this any different for the Reddit users?

A lot harder to come down on everyone when it's volume like this spread out over a large group that instigated it, IMO. Especially if there's no obvious/actionable "organizing."

We’re probably going to find out it’s really been hedge funds vs. like...kids of hedge funds that spend time online, know enough about manipulation and found the right value plays to strike (more) rich while doing something for the “lulz.”

Maybe this puts some fear into this kind of market play/shorting though.

AMC, Nokia, Blackberry, Kodak, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Express all blowing up. Welcome back to the 90s/early 2000s!
