Kirkland (Costco) organic creamy for me. I'm eating it right now w/ sliced banana on pita bread. A lot better than the organic crap we had as kids, which was essentially unspreadable and required strenuous mixing before each.

we have 3 cans of the recalled PB here at home... the guy at Publix told my wife to just bring it back to the store and they will exchange it.

Guarantee you if I put Kroger PB in a Jif container, you wouldn't know the difference.

I guarantee I would. My son will not eat PB on a sammich, he only eats it off of a spoon right out of the jar. When you eat it that way you can tell the difference no problem. If you put it on bread with a bunch of jelly to cover the taste it would probably be difficult. Out of the jar, huge difference.

Actually, it's prolly the reverse that is the reality: it's Jif in the Kroger container. For the most part, store brands are simply national brands purchased in bulk by the respective chains. The manufacturer/processor simply changes out the container that passes under the spigot.

I know...blasphemy to the brand-loyal folks. But that's often the case.

I only eat Jif Reduced Fat-all the other brands are too oily, and taste too much like raw peanuts. And yes, I can tell instantly if it is not my brand

I was thinking that yesterday. After I heard about the Peanut Butter and remembered Golic was out sick throwing up, I wondered if that was it. Man, this has effected a lot more people that I remember personally hearing about with the spinach thing.
