The people down here in Chattanooga were really hoping for App State to get to the finals. Last time they were here they nearly brought the whole town and spent mega $$$. I was at the game last night and it would stretching it to say that the place was 1/2 full. Weather had something to do with that but the distance seemed to also be a major factor. Montana had 2x the fans that Nova brought but neither team could pack them in like ASU. The contract is up for renewal and they are up against some place in suburban Dallas for the next one.
On the game... early on it looked like Nova was really struggling against Montana's passing attack. Mariani for Montana is a heck of a player and Selle had his best half of the year. Nova was bringing the blitz on almost every down and not getting there. On the other side, Montana had no answer for Nova's read option. The difference in the second half was that the Nova D got that first 3 and out and seemed to gain confidence on the next drive when they basically just ran it right down Montana's throat. Montana seemed deflated after that.
