FCC getting involved in Monday Night stupidity...

this is such bullshit. they put it on TV to get free publicity for their show. then they show it again on sportscenter, more free pub. then every other network picks it up. more free pub. you dont think ABC knew what they were doing?

This is win-win for ABC. There is no real way to punish them (notoriety is exactly what they wanted) but it was out of line.

Certainly we go well beyond that every night on tv (although there was much more to it than a bare back). But I happen to believe that folks who want to control what their children view should be able to do so. When Dad sits down with his 10 year old to watch the first half of the game he should have confidence that he will be watching football, not the seduction of his hero who states clearly that he will abandon his team mates for sex.

Yet another example of the hype machine that these guys have built themselves. Major TV network, major cable channel, major radio network, and a magazine. All for the sake of self-promotion.

Dungy: 'MNF' intro racially offensive

Reaction ranged from amusement to anger. Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy found it racially offensive. "To me that's the first thing I thought of as an African-American," Dungy said Wednesday.

"I think it's stereotypical in looking at the players, and on the heels of the Kobe Bryant incident I think it's very insensitive. I don't think that they would have had Bill Parcells or Andy Reid or one of the owners involved in that," he added, a reference to the coaches in the game.

The primary issue eveyone is missing in this topic is why do we football fans put up with crap station promotions. I tune in to MNF to see the football game period, yet every week I have to see idiotic promos for shows I don't give a shit about, listen to Madden and Michaels talk football to morons like Jim Bulushi or George Lopez, and watch an inane music video.

If the FCC wants to sanction ABC, they should do it for ruining the MNF experience with cheap, idiotic interviews and stunts.

Why does everything in this world have to become a commerical. :pissed:

Next on ESPN...a report from the X-Games, which by coincidence we are telecasting. Is Tony Hawk the best ever? let's ask Mike Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser, which by coincidence appear on this network as well. :roll1:

Yeah- Because that commercial for Despearte Housewives (and that's exactly what it was) is way worse than that Miller Lite Commercial where those two chicks with the giant fake cans wrestle in the fountain... that aired during Sunday afternoon games.

Damn that was a good ad.
