yeah on paper it would appear so, i actually saw them last year when they came here for their preaseason tour. I drove 10 hours to new jersey to see them play the New York Red Bulls at Giants Stadium. They sold out giants stadium 79,000+ you wont see anything like that soccer wise for years. Even Ronaldinho was overshadowed by the 2nd half Lionel Messi show, he was phenominal and he was just 19 at the time, but the crowd erupted into messi chants constantly.

I did see the "hand of god" goal but maradona got away with it during a world cup game! but this is by far his greatest goal he has scored to date also recreating the most famous maradona goal against england in the world cup which is without question the greatest goal ever scored by anyone. (consenus: the entire world)

Things seem to be shifting in la liga from real to barca
What gives you that impression? Real have filled virtually every gap that they had last season, and with young (and except for Drenthe, experienced) talent. They've strengthened much more than Barca have. If (when) they manage to get Robben, and they're able to stay fit, I'll be surprised if they don't win the league by at least 6 or 7 points.

Rijkaard couldn't even could keep Gudjohnsen and Saviola happy when Eto'o and Messi were out. He's going to need some quality escorts and some fuckin' good weed to keep Henry and Eto'o from crying to the media about not getting enough minutes for 10 months.

I dont think Real has lost that much in comparison to Barca. Yeah they did get a star in Henry but Real also has some great players on their team still, van Nistelrooy, Robinho, Ramos, Cannavaro, Guti, Raul, as well as some very good young players to. Robben will be a very good player too (pending transfer) but it seemed like he was never happy at Chelsea (playing time). When did Real become a haven for the Dutch ?

Real won La Liga in the last day. Raul and Van Nistelrooy are aging. Henry is aging but depth and quality Barca has at striker will make the difference over the course of a season. Eto'o and Ronaldinho are probably 2 of the most dynamic offensive players on the globe. Eto'o is the best finisher active today in my opinion and arguably the best Forward on the planet. Milito is a big pick up.

Looks like Barca is finally shaking off some early season rust. Henry seems to have finally gotten his feet wet a little bit and seems to be getting more and more tuned to playing within the team. Messi is probably the hottest player in the world (Ibrahimovic is not far behind) right now with 7 goals in his last 7 games picking up the slack for the injured Eto'o. But with Ronaldinho coming back after a slight injury and much criticism look for them to play a lot better than at the start of the season. Henry, Messi and Ronaldinho all playing good at once is about as dangerous as an attack as you will ever see.

Ronaldinho scored 2 free kick goals and Henry added a goal as Barca defeated Real Betis 3-0 in La Liga action. Seems like Ronaldinho has started to get back into form as of late and it couldn't have come at a better time. Eto'o is still out but Messi carried the weight when Ronaldinho was out for 2+ weeks. Barca have an important Champions League match this wednesday when they face Rangers, which you can see the replay of the game on ESPN Classic at 5pm Wednesday.

Thierry Henry and Lionel Messi scored as Barca defeat Rangers 2-0 in UEFA Champions League group stage match. Barca are atop there group with 10 points and are already in for the knockout stages which start next year. But they need to get Deco back healthy not to mention playing virtually the whole season so far without there lead striker Samuel Eto'o. When he comes back and hopefully gains back form without getting injured again they are going to be more scary than they are right now.

Barcelona defeated Celtic today 3-2 in a huge away-leg game. Messi added his first two goals of 2008 bringing him into the Champions League Lead with 6 goals in the competition and Henry added a nice goal. This basically solidified Barca as winning this round because going into there home-leg up 3-2 on aggregate is a huge blow to Celtic not to mention the almost impossible task of overcomming 3 Away goals.
