FB Aram Olson (Official Thread)

he certainly looks faster than the reported 4.9 40 time. He does have a camp verified 4.25 shuttle, which is pretty good.

as for his videos, if you had no idea where he was on the screen, all you need to do is look for the kid being planted on his ass and #43 is in the vicinity.

Olson Has Two Visits Set

By Phil Kornblut
RB Aram Olson (6-2 240) of Irmo has set official visits with Furman for January 6th and East Carolina for January 13th. He has an offer from East Carolina. He is also hearing from Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Auburn and Vanderbilt. He has made an unofficial visit to Ohio State.

My take: I'm not completely sold on Aram as a major D1 player. However, with the direction the fullback role at tOSU is heading, he could be adequate.

Aram was offered by Auburn. He unofficially visited Alabama this weekend. East Carolina and Auburn will get officials soon.

Well if we want him, I think we need to come through with an offer soon. The offer from Auburn is probably very huge right now as it is the first real big time school to offer. I really wish the coaches would try and get him in this class, but I don't really think they want a fb.

The only reason I can think of for our lack of an offer is spots in this class, maybe having a FB in this class is lower than another position because this kid is very, very nasty.

I wondered this as well... With us offering (at least verbally) various other versatile players (Fields, Miller, Alexander, Gant, and close to offering Jeffers) maybe that is what the staff is focused on to fill out this class.

Or it is an indication of the future direction of this offense...

Once again, good point Grad. The direction of the offense and offensive philosophy obviously plays a role here. Although I like the spread offense as we run it, I would love to see Pitt or Beanie behind a nasty FB anyday.

Bottom line is that maybe Olson does not fit into the traditional FB role....
