FB Aram Olson (Official Thread)

Welcome to the Buckeye family Aram!! I was in class, and could NOT wait to get out and see if we landed him. Excellent pick-up!

Aram will be dealing out the 2nd wave of punishment before the 3rd wave comes through (Chris Wells) for the next 4 years. I can NOT wait to get this freshman class on campus!

From the Auburn site......interesting that they now call Olson a "part time player" until his senior season. Maybe I am off, but I sense some down playing of his verbal to tOSU....

Yeah, right....part-time player. If Aram's videos are any indication of his abilities, his "part-time" play will be REALLY OFFENSIVE--plowing through holes and smashing linebackers and safeties as Beanie Wells' road-grader. Welcome to the Buckeye Nation, Aram! :oh: :io:

awesome pickup JT! Welcome Olson! Hopefully you're getting a kick out of all of the scrambling by the Auburn site  JT may never throw the ball again, and that may be a good thing :p

Olson as a player, easily the top FB prospect in the country. Should be the rated higher than he is. A definite top 5 prospect right now on our list, a close to Slaughter/Johnson....etc. Solidify the running game with a nast blocker and is very quick and has good hands. He liked how they used Slaughter this year and I think thats one of the main reasons why we get his commitment on wednesday.

this statement came from someone that is supposedly AU's version of Nevada. They were all gleaming over his scout.com videos that were recently released. Any statements made by their scout site that downplay the kid or his priority as a recruit for them is in poor taste.

Yep - the only way the Auburn spin makes a modicum of sense is that they have listed 4 FBs on their 2005 roster, though none except 2005 Senior Jake Slaughter (great name for a FB BTW) has seen playing time. Is part of the spin that Olson would only have seen significant playing time in Goal-Line or other Power Blocking schemes? (Asked because none of the other listed FBs have the heft of Olson, one is a converted TE, one is a Soph -2005, remainder Freshman 2005, one of whom redshirted).
