The Clelia II, an Antarctic cruise ship with 160 people onboard, lost an engine in a severe storm off the coast of Argentina and has to limp to port. Even big boats have problems with 30-foot waves. Reports say the Clelia lost its engine after a wave broke a window in the bridge and damaged its control electronics. Its expected to complete its 500-mile trip back to port Friday through the Drake Passage, one of the roughest ocean crossings in the world.
Experts say as Antarctic tourism has grown, so has the risk to ships in the turbulent southern oceans, with groundings, collisions with icebergs and a few sinkings. Hope everyone aboard the Clelia enjoys roller coaster rides
