1. College Football
2. Pro Football (close second)
3. College Basketball
4. Major League Baseball
5. High School Football

The NBA would've been up here 5-10 years ago, but the problem is now most of the players consider themselves as "thugs" and have forgotten that it is a team sport.

that's it. i can't stand pro basketball, pro football, pro baseball, nascar, and soccer. i could learn to appreciate hockey, though. besides golf, that's the only pro sport whose players i respect.

pro baseball? big papi is an athlete? he get's paid how much for 2-4 at-bats a game?

pro football? egos. can't stand 'em.

College Football without question.

Rivalries: OSU/Michigan, Auburn/Alabama, Georgia/Florida, USC/Notre Dame. Kids it don't get any better than that. You lose that game as a senior, it gnaws at you for life

Bands: Script Ohio, Fight songs (although Rocky Top drives me nuts)

Tradition: Howards Rock, "Play Like a Champion Today" sign, Go Blue Banner, We are the Boys of Old Florida. These are the things that make college football unique.

Travelling Trophies: Floyd of Rosedale, Paul Bunyan's Axe (find me a cooler trophy), Keg of Nails, Old Oaken Bucket. Maybe my favorite part of college football right there.

That's just the big schools.

What about Navy, Air Force and Army? Watch the Army/Navy game in a week or two. There is a good chance that one of them will die in combat in the next two years. They play for the love of the sport, for the love of their branch of the military and for pride. None of them are going to the pros. They play and play hard for the love of the game.

Harvard/Yale? Two storied programs no longer the powerful teams of yesteryear. Did you see the triple OT thriller these guys played on Saturday? That is pure sport at its best.

The NFL can't touch it. MLB can't fathom it. The NBA can hardly spell it.

Screw pro sports. Give me college football. Nothing else comes close.
what he said..but the atmoshpere is a hell of alot better in college than pro football

I love games at the 'Shoe, and College Football, anywhere, brings an atmoshphere that must be experienced to believe, but I am growing partial to watching football on TV instead of attending games live. Whether its college or pro, football just gains so much by the use of TV replay, plus there isn't a 10 minute long line in my house to use the toilet. Saturday afternoons at a college stadium watching a game is good, but Saturday afternoons on the sofa watching twenty games is better.

For the in-stadium experience though, I love MLB. There is nothing better than leaning back for 3 or 4 hours on the first, warm Saturday afternoon in the Spring or on a breezy July evening and watching a MLB game. I just love being lazy for half the day and having someone other than my girlfriend bring me peanuts and cold beer every 20 minutes.
