Damn. What a tough question...My answer probably changes a lot...

I'll go with...hmmmm....of all time?....damn....

It's gotta be Zeppelin, it's just a matter of which song...hmmmm....

I'll go with "Ramble On" for now....

Poles apart in style and content but, dependent on mood ..

Bob Dylan - Like a Rolling Stone

or

Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London

The only common characteristic?

Both have great piano work in them - in particular Like a Rolling Stone's is simply astonishing.

tough question.

There are so many good songs out there.

Happy Birthday! at some point in my life will be my favorite because it means my (pending) children will be another year older.

As far as quality of music, I don't know what my favorite is. I am partial to Celtic music, but Beethoven's 9th is so good.

In the world of modern music there is a lot of good out there as well.
Behind Blue Eyes by the Who stands out.
Three Days by Janes Addiction is another one
2112 by Rush used to be a favorite as did La Villa Strangiato (sp?)

I guess for this poll, I will go with Behind Blue Eyes by the Who.

Man, that's a tough call to make, but I have to go with "Already Gone" by the Eagles.

"Well, let me tell ya got some news for you and you'll soon find out it's true. And then you'll have to eat your lunch all by yourself."

I used to play the shit out of my dad's Eagles Greatest Hits Vol 1 album when I was a kid. That and The Vetures because it had "Wipe Out" and "Tequilla." But if I had to pick one song and only one song to listen to forever, it's probably "You Shook Me" by AC/DC. Man it never gets old.
