I was VERY close to putting Frank Grimes on the list. But then I decided that it should be for "normal" characters. That is to say, people who are repeat characters - not just single-episode characters. And I don't count the flash-back episode with Frank Grimes as a repeat episode for him.

I've since thought of a lot of people I wanted to put on that list. But they only let you have a maximum of 50 options in a poll.

I'm thinking I should have changed it to "favorite non-Simpsons characters." Not that Homer is the wrong answer, but it's too easy.
