Fantasy Football Trade Help

Piney

Stay thirsty my friends
Former Game Champion
Got a question for my fellow BP fantasy football gurus.

In my big money keeper league I got a very interesting trade offer. Julius Jones for Tatum Bell.

I have Jones as my 2nd RB and with him splitting carries it isn't helping. I do have Barber to handcuff him. But Tatum Bell splits carries but he busts out big plays and gets TDs and also is healthy.

It is a tempting offer and I am split on what to do. Anyone that gives me some good thoughts you will get some greenies for a reward.

Thanks

If you will be keeping these players for years to come I would stay with Jones. Denver goes through running back like I do socks. IMO Jones is going to be the man in Dallas for future years if he can stay healthy. Bell is capable of breaking the big one, but it doesn't sound like he is ever going to be the main guy. If you are going to lose the player after this season take the guy who you think will give you the most points the rest of the season. Of course I suck at FFB so do the exact opposite of what I think. :p

I won my keeper league last year but this year I'm 5-5 with the injury bug KILLING me so take this for what it's worth.

Are you in the hunt for the title in your league this year?

If so I'd take the trade.

Who are your other RB's?

I have Jones on my team and he is killing me. He's gone about 3 weeks in a row with no output. I also have Domanick Davis and Jamal Lewis so you can see my quandry.

The injury bug has me worried about Jones, that's 2 years in a row he's missed significant action.

Tell me about it. I drafted Priest Holmes, Ahman Green and Julius Jones. JJ is a shining beacon of success compared to those two IR buddies.

I would go with bell personally.

I would go with Bell because he is the more likely to break one off. He can share touches, that won't matter much. In his last 4 games he has 51 carries for 325 and 3 scores, with a 6.4 ypc average. Jones has 72 carries for 249 and 2 scores, good for just 3.5 per carry.

Jones will get more carries, but is more likely to be injured with his workload, and he isn't producing.

Edit: I just told you what you already know, basically repeating your post (but with stats :p)...I'm not sure why you're split. Go for it, pussy

Here's some of my players who have gotten injured this year:

Culpepper: No biggie, was playing like shit anyways
Roy Williams
Tory Holt
Joe Horn
Julius Jones
Domanick Davis
Mewelde Moore

Over half of those guys were my starters.

Here is my current team

QB - Peyton Manning, Chris Simms & Mike McMahon
RB - LaMont Jordan, Julius Jones, Marion Barber, Curtis Martin, Mewelde Moore, & Adrian Peterson
WR - Joey Galloway, Rod Smith, Deion Branch, Lee Evans
TE - Jason Witten
K - John Kasey
D/ST - Atlanta

I am leading my division, I am 2nd in overall pts scored but only 5-4-1.

Of course the trade deadline is Friday, oh joy.

I wouldn't do that trade, no way no how. I'm with exHawg. Taco Bell is not going to be the man in Denver. If he was going to be the man in denver, he'd be the main guy by this point. I think as far as shanahan is concerned bell is nothing more than a change of pace back ... he doesn't trust bell to be the guy (see 2005 4th round pick). plus bell's starting to get a little case of fumble-itis.

I'd stick with Jones b/c I see him as having more potential, and as long as parcells is around (and jones is healthy) I don't see the cowboys doing a RB by committee thing or giving the goal-line carries to anybody else. Even if anderson falls out of the picture in denver, dayne is there waiting to take over the reigns as the big goalline back in their offense.

Then again, I also predicted this was going to be a huge year for Deshaun Foster.
