I thought both of the players made legal hits and as you said earlier the inconsistency of the calls made by the refs is the problem.

I got you. The lack of consistency drives me nuts. I don't see any accountability by the league relative to the referees.

The "defenseless player" rule is the problem. You can drive a truck through the interpretation of that rule.

I must be old because we were taught to defend yourself at all times. If you got your clock cleaned that was part of the game.
