In a season in which all the major awards and all american status has eluded him, Ezekiel Elliott finally has a trophy to put upon his mantle. Elliott was named the 2015 Chicago Tribune’s Big Ten Most Valuable Player on Friday, winning the coveted Silver Football. Zeke becomes the 18th Buckeye to take home the prize and the 3rd in the last 4 years as Braxton Miller won back to back Silver Footballs in 2012 and 2013.

Alongside Elliott were finalist’s, CJ Beathard, QB from Iowa and Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook. Elliott received 8 of the 13 first place votes this year, with one school not submitting a vote.

Elliott led the B1G in rushing with 139.3 yards per game, scoring and all-purpose yards at 155.1 yards per game. He is 5th in the nation in rushing with 1,672 yards and second in rushing td’s.

Elliott was previously named the B1G’s Graham-George offensive player of the year and the Ameche-Dayne running back of the year.
