Anyone in Columbus know off places thet do a good job? I need new contacts, but My perscrpition needs to be redone.
Just look who your insurance covers and go to that doctor. Go to Walmart if you don't have eye coverage.

That's where I get my contacts at.

I use Ohio State Optical on Zollenger in UA... my insurance covers it all... they seem to do a good job. I used some nazi lady in Kingsdale Center when I was in highschool. She was the worst!!! I think she lived by the motto "no pain no gain"... only problem was I didn't need pain in my eye's when she got done with them...

So stay away from a lady with a german/swiss last name (I cannot remember her name, I've blocked her out of my memory). It's amazing how I now don't mind going to the eye doctor, it used to be like going to get you teeth pulled... you did it because you knew you had to... regardless of the pain)....

Bite the bullet.. find out who the best of the best is... and have the surgery... trust me... it will be THE BEST money you have ever spent on yourself...
My dad had that done and it didn't work and he's been miserable ever since. Know a guy from my hometown who had it, used to be a scratch golfer. Now is unable to golf, had to quit his job, and can no longer drive. It only takes one bad experience with LASIK to scare you off.

One of my roommates in college who is now an optometrist told me, "There is no reason to operate on an organ that doesn't need operated on."

I've never forgotten that. And he was a guy who wore contacts like myself.

well based on that analysis Thump... I assume you never get on an airplane or ride in a car... because I'm pretty sure there has been an accident somewhere along the line... or you know someone...

Go back to your roommate... and ask him what his stance is... as of TODAY... not based on what he thought the day he got his degree.... and you'll probably find out.. he's even had the procedure... Lasiks is so computerized I question whether both of your stories are valid...

Note.. I also said.. find out who the best of the best are... don't go to Lasiks-R-Us Discount center for Optometrists who failed Vet school...

Actually I saw him recently and he still holds the same stance and still wears contacts and glasses.

Also, the odds of getting hurt in a plane crash and LASIK not working are significantly different.

BTW, my dad had his LASIK done at Grant Hospital.
