SoCal, Baby!
OK, so here is the question -- if you were to drop large coin (at least $2,500) for a man's suit, what direction would you go -- Zegna, Nardini, Oxxford, other -- and why?

I have always wanted an Oxxford suit, because of the fantastic workmanship and excellent fabrics, but I'd like to know everyone's opinions.

I could really give a rip about what I wear at this stage of my life; but if something or the other pans out the right way, I could see myself getting another nice suit or two before getting buried in one.

If I go off the rack, I'll probably stick with Armani. They fit me pretty well. My wife used to be in the business, so I got them cheap. If I ever got another one, I'd have to pay full price. So...

I may just go all in on a bespoke from Saville Row, probably Ozwald Boateng. If you're going to spend that much money, why not get something that really fits for a few dollars (pounds) more?

More than $2500 for one suit, sorry but my reaction is:

I'd usually shopped at Schottensteins for suits. They have since closed; however, there are still a few Value Citys left. I can't remember ever paying over $100 for a suit.

Talk to NYBuck. He is a freak with clothes.

I have a great Canali suit I bought on a deal I could not refuse ($350 versus $1400). I love it and hope to one day only own Canalis. The best way to describe the suit is that it hangs just right on me.

Upon recommendation by NYB I checked out some Oxxford suits and I must say he was right. I bought 2 of them from Filene's for about 1k each a year or two ago and they are without a doubt the best suits I have ever put on. They have quite a few there right now as well if you live anywhere near Dublin go check them out.
