Ex-Wolverine
Senior
Hello everyone,
I am brand new here, just found this forum last night. I wanted to introduce myself, subject myself to the ridicule, and take my lumps like a man before I am (hopefully) accepted to your clan.
I will just say it flat out... I am a 2003 graduate of the University of Michigan. I grew up a Wolverine fan my entire life. I never hated the Buckeyes as much as I should have, but I loved the Wolverines more than anything.
I went to UM and found that it was nothing like the utopia I thought it would be. Ann Arbor is a toilet, the people are stuck up and snotty, and the school is a hellhole. The place is so intensely liberal that one cannot go through the middle of campus to get to class without being harrassed about how evil white people, men, Christians, and heterosexuals are. I couldn't wait to leave.
I applied to and was accepted to Ohio State for grad school, which has the top program in my field. I thought the switch was going to be rough, but it hasn't been.
I bought my first Ohio State t-shirt at Longs a couple weeks back, and when they asked for picture ID, I had to use my UM Student ID. Buying that T-shirt was one of the hardest things I ever did, but I find myself coming to terms more and more with the idea of being a Buckeye.
Columbus is a great town, OSU's campus is gorgeous, the people are down to Earth, and I have to say that I am looking forward to spending the next 5-6 years of my life around people who HATE UM ALMOST AS MUCH AS I DO.
I will probably never share the intense hatred of UM athletics the way that you guys do, I wish UM well athletically, and when the two teams play, I want the one with the better chance of winning the National Championship win. But if they go into the game 11-0, I want OSU to beat them every time!
