EspIn next years Top 12 with comments (merged)

[Lee Corso]YO! Not so fast my friend!

I saw the Buckeyes play in the Alamo bowl and that Teddy Ginn *tck tck tck tck* that kid can really move! It's true, they're losing my favorite player, SIMON FRASER, but they're returning 16 starters and they looked really good pasting Michigan and Oklahoma State! Look out for them in '05 USC, YO!

[/Lee Corso]

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, Kirk and Lee (the foremost analysts at ESPN) claim that OSU will be number two... so who cares what ESPN's equivalent of the scout team thinks? I know if I were an ESPN writer I'd predict the Bucks to go 6-6 just to see this msg board like up like a Christmas tree (not seriously, but I could imagine )

Not questioning our talent, but we've got plenty of tough games on our schedule... if we get there next year it won't be because we didn't play anyone. I hope the team doesn't get as tied up in rankings and caring about what the media thinks, or it's going to be a VERY long season next year.

yeah but you shouldn't rank teams on how they'll end, but on how good they are, you gotta see the talent and think we are a top 10 team at least based on talent, if you rank teams on schedule rather than talent, you'll get West Virginia..who should of never and i mean never been ranked as high as they were.

I think I'll wait til we at least get through the AA all star game before I start worrying about some 2005 football rankings. Maybe I'll wait till after LOI day. Maybe I'll wait till after spring ball. Hell, I might just go ahead and wait til next season starts.

As if Mark Bradley isn't already about to slit his wrists...:roll2:
Yeah, no shit. The only mistake he made was that he didn't make sure the USC player didn't touch the ball. If he had, even if Bradley fumbled, it still would have been choklahomo's ball. I hate everything about ESPiN.

The only lock in that poll is USC, the rest is up to debate. I think OSU should be top 5-8 in the preseason poll but to have SCUM at #3 is a reach....they have alot of losses and I would think OSU, Iowa and then Michigan in the big ten race.

The higher Texas is ranked when they come to the horseshoe, the better for us.

My top 10

1. USC....obvious reason
2. Tennecheat.....they have 3 QB's ready to go, Gerald Riggs and are generally loaded. Will have some rebuilding on o-line.
3. scUM....need to be ranked high so when we beat them it will hurt more.
4. Texas....see scUM
5. The Ohio State University Buckeyes
6. Iowa....Ferentz is a good reason
7. Florida....pretty loaded but can they make quick adjust to new staff?
8. Louisville....won't hurt at QB but RB and WR's might drop them a little
9. LSU.....see Florida
10.Va Tech....a lot of the offense was their QB.

my top ten

1. USC Whether or not Leinart comes back
2-7 in no order
Ohio State- gotta have him there
Florida- Leak and the new offense
Iowa- finished strong and were fairly young
Tennessee- young team
Miami- always good
Texas-finished very strong...if they can get someone to slightly fill bensons shoes they will be good

other teams to watch out for...not saying they will finish top 10 but they will surprise some people
Penn State, Nebraska, Va tech(the other vick is back...assuming he doesnt do anything stupid like he already has)

The asshole updated his post...

7. Ohio State Buckeyes

Why: Ted Ginn seems like a wonderful place to start, and there's plenty more returning talent to surround him.

Why not: An NCAA investigation could turn into a mushroom cloud over Columbus. Buckeyes fans have done their best to minimize the potential repercussions, but that might be whistling past the gridiron graveyard.

I can deal with the #7, good to see scUM and Texas ahead of us when we go to play them. But what's with that crap about "Buckeyes fans have done their best to minimize the potential repercussions"? So, is he saying this may all blow over because we were able to bury it?

Don'y ya feel the luv?

Any bets on how long ESPN is going to be beating this dead horse? Course they disregarded what Myles Brand had to say about us, but its not like the president of the NCAA ever says anything worth taking a note of :roll2:.
