Immediately after he awakes Friday on his 90th birthday, Ernie Harwell plans to do a series of exercises.
First, he will do 50 whirling dervishes -- a stretching maneuver in which he fully extends his arms and alternately turns his upper body to the left and right as fast as he can.

Sad day for the Tigers!!!! 92 though.........Everyone dies sooner or later, and he took it VERY far!!!!

Tigers will play with it the rest of the year....This one's for Ernie!!!!

Great radio show on Detroit's 97.1 today celebrating Harwell's life. They've been taking calls since the show started at 10:00, one after another, people telling their Ernie story. What an amazing man.
