If UCLA wins, neither team in this bowl will end up with a winning record.

If Illinois wins, UCLA becomes the first 8-loss team to have played in a bowl game.

Nothing like a bowl game to "reward" two teams who were so happy about their seasons they shitcanned their coaches.

I don't think we'll be seeing an Emerald Nuts commercials. More of those depressing Kraft ones we saw last year about fighting hunger.

You are correct and "BB73 goofed the bowl's current name" in the thread title. It is the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl not the Emerald Bowl.

SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco Bowl Game Association, organizers of the annual college football bowl game played at AT&T Park, announced today that Kraft Foods will be the game's new title sponsor for the next three years. The game will be known as the "Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl" and will be part of a broader hunger relief program Kraft Foods plans to kick off in September in collaboration with Feeding America, the nation's leading hunger-relief organization.

I think I got that from some list that wasn't updated. It was the Emerald Bowl until last year.

I'll miss the nut commercials. I liked the acronyms about euphemistic Norwegians and exotic nymphs.

UCLA players had per diem checks withheld for missing voluntary practices (according to the sideline reporter)? Did I hear that correctly?

What part of that is voluntary, if they are withholding meal money for non-attendance?

Apparently depositing the checks is voluntary - or UCLA eats their own?

Donner, party of 7.

Back to the headless coaches bowl.
