I'm not in any way a Stealers fan, but the I do think that Big Ben is a great QB. I think he does have a very good supporting cast around him, but he is still putting up good numbers. He is 6th in the NFL in QB Rating, and 4th in completion percentage. He is also second in the NFL in yards per attempt behind only Peyton. Not to mention the fact that he is 11 and 0. The stats speak for themselves. He is the most productive rookie QB of all time.
You beat me to the punch, chille37. Great supporting cast or not he had a QB rating over 100 until last week. Sure it wouldn't be that high if he were playing for the Giants but he's been playing great and what he's done this year shouldn't be diminished.

Krenzel would do better in Pittsburgh than he has done in Chicago...

No doubt about it. All Roethlisberger has been asked to do is to manage the offense and not turn the ball over. He's made big plays when they have been needed. Sound familiar?

Big Ben has a world of potential and he's being broken in the right way. While he's not throwing for a ton of yards or touchdowns his completion percentage is high and he hasn't made many mistakes. I'm sure down the road he will be asked to do more. The sky is the limit.

folks, you gotta give the guy credit. has everyone completely forgotten how miserable the steelers were last year with tommy maddox at the helm? you can't say that any QB would do great under their system.

in the offseason the steelers signed deuce staley (who has been injured for about half the year) and got a new defensive coordinator in dick lebeau. other than that, did they make any other significant changes? the offensive line is the same, the players on defense are mostly the same.

12-0 in the NFL is unbelievable. He killed the patriots and the eagles. there is no way in hell that eli manning would have done better. i can't believe i'm even talking about this.

going into the draft, roethlisberger was considered to be the most physically gifted of the 3 qb's. for some reason he was chosen last, probably because it was believed that he wasn't as smart as manning or rivers. well, he's clearly proven that he's solid at reading defenses, and he's definetely got the intangible of being cool under pressure. He is better physically, he is better mentally, and he has better intanglibles.

i didn't think it was possible to criticize a rookie qb that inherited a 6-10 team and has helped them go 12-0, with 2 huge wins over teams with a combined record of 25-3, but i guess i was wrong.
