If you like jam bands, don't miss em.

Playing the Newport tonight.

For those of you who don't know anything about them -
Local band. Started out early 90's. Psuedo-hippies, like myself, used to enjoy Wednesdays at the Berg with em. Played at Chelsie's and Ruby Tuesdays a lot. Started going on the road to all kinds of places. Have a 3 day concert 2 times a year (one spring, one fall)

Little known fact, BKB went to high school with the bassist and was friends with lead guitarist in those days too.

My wife's sister was roomates with Ed the lead singer from Hookah for a while. She sung on stage with Hookah a few years back at Hookahville. He is a cool dude, actually he came to Thanksgiving this year and I was talking to him for while. He was saying how the road can take a toll on ya. He is a pretty bright guy, and very chilled out/ down to earth. Those guys play for hours and hours, and have a pretty decent cult like following. They've had offers from bigger labels, but have turned them down. Actually, Ed has been aproached about signing as a solo artist. You have to respect a band that doesn't sell out.
