BayBuck

Buckeyes are best
Just got back from lunch at Eddie George's new restaurant in the Gateway, and it was a great time! I went with a few ladies from the office, and we weren't sitting 5 minutes before #27 himself came over and shook our hands and chatted us up (he recommended the blackened bologna sandwich) and gave some autographs (mine on my BuckID). He and his family seemed really happy to have the place finally open, and he said he is moving back to Columbus very soon.

The Grille is the place to be in the Gateway for watching games, with probably 50 flat-panel TVs and a nice bar. The portions were huge and pretty well priced, and I suspect Eddie will be there all week greeting customers. The huge posters of him hanging above High Street are really striking. Some may lament the passing of the south campus bar scene, but I'm really impressed with how the Gateway is turning out.

Sounds Great. I had heard it was opening on Friday night after a Private Party on Thursday, good to see they finally got it open.

From what I had heard they have been waiting to open and the city was just jerking them around on the Liqour License.

Yeah, they finally got that liquor issue settled.

To go with the 27 theme, the Grille features 27 flavors of martinis and a 27-ounce angus steak--I'll have to try those out when I'm not on my lunch break from work.

Damn, definately should check that out this weekend. With Grille 27, Mad Mex, Skye Bar, and Ugly Tuna all up and running, as well as Panini's right up the street, the place should be nuts in the Spring when the weather gets better.

That's freakin' awesome.

It's times like these, I miss Columbus. I'd love to meet Eddie. What a class act.

Thanks for sharing.

BTW, how was the blackened bologna sammich? That sounds great to me. :)

He really is all class, and a people-person to rival Archie: he's all smiles, and all the ladies from work fell in love with him (just like my mom did when we met him at the '97 Rose Bowl).

I had the meatloaf, which was great, but my colleague did enjoy the baloney.

That Cold Stone Creamery ice cream place is good too, and will be open until 11 every night. All those places are going to make some serious moolah come warm-weather time.

Were you able to keep your composure? I would be star struck and wouldn't know what to say.

I saw last night on the news when Eddie was giving the tour that you can take a piss in the mens restroom and still see the game from the pisser. It was one of those windows where you can see out but you cannot see in...Pretty slick...
