Dynamic Duo

Being a bit older, Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon were staples of late night TV.

I guess I appreciated both the slapstick and dry comedy they both provided.

Ornery but rarely off color.

Here's Johnny!

I use to stay up and watch Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon just for the simple reason that i think they were pretty good at ad-libing thier lines
when they went off script and you could tell. It made everybody laugh
and the things they said were really funny. I guess I am old too here but
the difference of times gone by sure is telling. I think they had really
good script writers back in those days or maybe times have really changed and i am not keeping up with it anymore. But i think Ed and Johnny were
great back then. Ed McMahon lived a good life and so did Johnny.

Hi-oh!

RIP

Meanwhile, Doc Severinsen is still wearing the ol' hotpants and out-trumpeting thousands a quarter of his age.

Marine flight instructor in Florida during World War II. He was recalled to active duty during the Korean War, flying 85 combat missions in an artillery-spotting plane.

Humble guy. Typical of his generation.

Ed McMahon Dead at 86.

He and Johnny had so much class compared to the guy that was originally supposed to replace them (Letterman.) While they may have made fun of politicians, it wasn't nearly as mean spirited as it now is.

We will miss you.

...And where's my check?
