Few men have ever looked sharper in a fedora than Earle Bruce. Especially when dotting the 'i' at 85 years old.

For all his faults I always feel like Earle was my coach. Just the age I was during his tenure I guess.
Cooper was something that was done to me.
Tress,Urban and Day are just coaches of my favorite team. Love them when they win but the only guy I like even at 9-3 was Earle.

Just sayin': His 1st year as head coach was undoubtedly his best year. With Woody's players he went 11-0 (#1 in the AP) during the regular season and probably lost a National Championship to USC in the Rose Bowl 16-17. After that he turned into "9-3 Earl".

When coach talked to me about playing at Ohio State one day during a passing camp I was at, it made him so much more than the others for me. Now obviously that didn't happen and I never met Cooper into long after he scarred me for life so it's definitely Earle for me too.
I will say though Tressel is a hell of a man and coach and we'll always hold him in high regard for saving us!

A far worse coach than Cooper ever was. Cooper was hurt by the fact that he had to bring back the program from the utter disaster that Bruce left it in. Bruce should have been fired far sooner than he was.

Lost 3 games a year and tOSU basically faded from any type of national presence. Because he's a mediocre coach.
tOSU has been a national player almost every year since 1993. Thanks to Cooper.
