Agree. I thought it was incredibly crass and I hope that the University will not allow something like that to happen again.Was a great moment this morning to see Coach Bruce and three BTN camera guys dot the I.
It was great to see him on the field again, nonetheless, no?

What happened to my ¤cash?
A few years ago I had the opportunity to introduce my boys to Earle. I explained to them that Earle was my version of their coach Tressel. Obviously pre-Urb days. It was a privilege to shake his hand and tell him how much I loved waking up on Sunday mornings to catch his post game show on Toledo TV as we only got The Game and maybe one other broadcast each year. What a great ambassador for tOSU football as he was extremely gracious and took time for a pic with my boys.
I entered tOSU fall of '88. We all know how that went...

Indeed. I attended Eastern Michigan (Ypsilanti, MI... 5 miles east of TWUN) during the Cooper years. Talk about suck.

Love Coach Bruce. He sat behind me one season at St. John arena. I was in the last row of the bleachers and he was in the first row of folded seats. Nice man, always had time to talk to us. He didn't seem too fond of the officials, though.

R.I.P to Coach, got a the pleasure of speaking briefly with him two years ago at a coaching clinic at tOSU and he absolutely had me fired up like I was still playing. Will be missed

Rest In Peace coach. Having seen that horrible disease up close though, he is in a better place.

Players like Chris Spielman, Chris Carter, Kieth Byars, Jim Lachey, Pepper Johnson and so many more come to mind
His coaching tree has branches like Urban Meyer, Jim Tressel, Nick Saban and Pete Carroll
Hell of a man and hell of a coach.

Was a Buckeye fan since birth really but it was Coach Bruce that made me a fanatic. Loved that guy. First major football camp was at Ohio State and I got to speak to him for a few minutes about what I needed to do to get an Ohio State offer. First "Worst Day of My Life" was the day he got fired.

One of the lasting images I have when I think of The Game is Coach Bruce pumping his fist in celebration after beating Michigan in his final game as OSU head coach. Hoisted on the shoulders of his players, it must've meant the world to him to, quite literally, go out on top. RIP Coach, you'll be missed.
