Eagles Resting Players

I don't have a problem with it. Whatever the coach determines is the best for the ultmate goal (winning the super bowl) is what he should do. There is no obligation to anyone else, far as I can see. Sure it makes for a shitty product on the field. Now, we know that St. Louis' 1st string is 13 points better than Philly's 2nd string. But, who cares. The game is meaningless for Philly. It's a lot like a preseason game now. While you should keep your starters fresh, timing wise, I have no issue with injury prevention strategies. It just makes good sense. "We play to win" speeches aside, one has to ask themselves, what do they REALLY want to win, the SB or a meaningless game v. St. Lou? Maybe Reid made the wrong call, we won't know til the SB is played (assuming Philly makes it there) But, if McNabb broke his leg in this game, everyone would be saying "Reid is a moron" Don't kid yourselves. You would have.

Reid has every right to sit his players but I think it could effect them in the long run. Without TO they should use these game to get McNabb on the same page with his other receivers. I see it both ways... you should have enough pride to want to win everygame by player your best game.... or the Super is the main goal, do what you have to to get there.
